Although a small amount of absolute can be obtained from Nelumbo nucifera, the lotus in most perfumes is a fantasy accord built from synthetic aquatic and floral molecules. Depending on the blend it can feel melon-like, powdery or dewy. Lotus is used almost entirely as a heart note.
