Perfumes with Mandarin Orange
Mandarin orange smells sweet, juicy and slightly floral, a soft citrus that is rounder than orange and far less sour than lemon. It comes from the peel of Citrus reticulata, produced mainly in Italy, Brazil and around the Mediterranean.
The oil is obtained by cold-pressing the rind. Green mandarin is sharper and leafier, while red mandarin is riper and sweeter. Because it evaporates quickly, mandarin sits almost always among the top notes, giving a cheerful opening. It pairs well with bergamot, orange blossom, neroli, jasmine, vanilla and musk.
Mandarin Orange appears in 16,073 perfumes in the Fisfis catalogue and is used mostly as a top note.
