Haitian vetiver smells dry, earthy and woody with a faintly smoky, nutty and grapefruit-like freshness: a clean, refined vetiver from roots of the grass grown in Haiti.
Roots of Chrysopogon zizanioides are dug up, dried and steam-distilled into vetiver oil. Haitian vetiver is generally considered cleaner, greener and nuttier than the smokier Javanese type. It blends damp soil, roots and a hint of citrus. Haitian vetiver sits mostly in the base of a fragrance, adding lasting power. It pairs with grapefruit, bergamot, cedar, patchouli, iris, black pepper and musks.
