Perfumes with Cardamom

Cardamom smells cool, fresh and aromatic, a green spice with hints of eucalyptus, lemon peel and a soft, slightly resinous sweetness. It comes from the seeds of Elettaria cardamomum, grown mainly in Guatemala and India.

The oil is obtained by steam distillation of the seeds, or sometimes by CO2 extraction. Unlike warm spices, cardamom gives a cooling effect, which is why it appears both in the opening and in the heart of a fragrance, bridging the two. It pairs beautifully with sandalwood, rose, coffee, tobacco, cedar, bergamot and lavender.

Cardamom appears in 10,138 perfumes in the Fisfis catalogue and is used mostly as a top note.
