Apples yield no usable perfume oil, so the note is built from synthetic fruity molecules such as hexyl acetate, Manzanate and various esters. Compared with red apple it is less sweet, sharper and greener. Green apple is almost always a top note. It is often paired with bergamot, lemon, melon, mint, freesia, marine notes and white musks, and is a staple of fresh, sporty compositions.
