Perfumes with Sweet Notes
Sweet notes describe a general impression of sweetness that recalls sugar, caramel, vanilla and candy; it is an effect created by several materials working together, not a single ingredient.
The effect is usually built from ethyl maltol, vanillin, ethyl vanillin, coumarin, heliotropin and various fruity lactones. Depending on the mix it can feel caramelised, powdery, fruity or creamy, and it softens a composition. Sweet notes sit mostly in the heart of a fragrance and often in the base. They pair with vanilla, tonka, praline, musks, red berries, rose and powdery notes.
