Perfumes with Plum
Plum smells sweet, dark, juicy and slightly jammy, recalling ripe purple plums, prunes and fruit liqueur, sometimes with a wine-like depth. There is no usable natural plum extract, so the note is constructed with synthetic molecules.
Perfumers build the effect with lactones and fruity materials, giving a result darker and denser than peach. Plum usually sits in the top and heart of a fragrance. It pairs well with rose, patchouli, cinnamon, vanilla, tobacco, oud, amber and sandalwood, and it is especially common in warm, autumnal and winter compositions.
