Perfumes with Osmanthus
Osmanthus smells fruity, sweet, slightly leathery and tea-like, a floral note with a distinct apricot and peach character radiating from its tiny orange blossoms. It comes from the flowers of Osmanthus fragrans, a shrub grown mainly in China.
The blossoms are processed by solvent extraction into a precious and costly absolute. Ionones and lactones play a large part in its scent, linking it to violet and peach. Osmanthus mostly sits in the heart of a fragrance. It pairs well with tea, leather, iris, rose, peach, sandalwood and musk.
