Perfumes with Orchid
Orchid smells soft, creamy, sweet and slightly powdery, best understood as an imaginary floral accord that suggests something exotic and elegant rather than a specific natural flower. Most orchids have little scent and offer no usable extract for perfumery.
Perfumers therefore interpret the note freely, using vanilla, jasmine, heliotrope and synthetic floral molecules. Since vanilla itself comes from an orchid, the note often carries vanillic tones. Orchid mostly sits in the heart of a fragrance. It pairs well with vanilla, jasmine, patchouli, peach, musk and sandalwood.
