Perfumes with Magnolia
Magnolia smells creamy, clean, slightly lemony and sweet, a floral that combines the freshness of large white petals with fruity hints and a soft transparency. Only limited natural extracts exist, so in most perfumes the note is built with synthetic molecules.
Oils and extracts from white champaca, Michelia alba, grown in China, are also used to give a magnolia effect. Magnolia mostly sits in the heart of a fragrance. It pairs well with bergamot, lemon, rose, jasmine, lily of the valley, musk and sandalwood, and it brings a luminous, creamy softness to floral compositions.
