Perfumes with Coriander
Coriander smells fresh, gently spicy, woody and slightly floral, and its seeds give a soft, lemony scent quite different from the sharp, green smell of the fresh leaves. It comes from the seeds of Coriandrum sativum, produced mainly in Russia, Ukraine and India.
The oil is obtained by steam distillation of the seeds, and linalool dominates its profile, which links it to lavender and bergamot. Coriander sits in both the top and the heart. It pairs well with bergamot, cardamom, ginger, rose, lavender, cedar, vetiver and patchouli, adding a subtle spicy freshness.
