Perfumes with Citruses
Citrus notes describe the fresh, bright, tangy and uplifting scents released by the peel of fruits such as lemon, orange, mandarin and grapefruit, giving a fragrance a clean and cheerful opening. Note lists use the term when no single fruit is singled out.
Citrus oils are usually obtained by cold-pressing the peel and are often supported by synthetic molecules for stability. They evaporate quickly, so they sit mostly among the top notes, sometimes reaching into the heart. Citrus pairs well with neroli, lavender, mint, ginger, vetiver, cedar and musk, and it is the backbone of colognes and summer scents.
Citruses appears in 5,854 perfumes in the Fisfis catalogue and is used mostly as a top note.
