Perfumes with Caramel
Caramel smells sweet, warm, buttery and lightly burnt, recalling sugar melting in a pan, caramel sweets and the inviting aromas drifting from a bakery oven. There is no natural caramel extract, so the note is a gourmand accord built with synthetic molecules.
Its core usually includes maltol and ethyl maltol, which evoke cotton candy and burnt sugar. Caramel sits in both the heart and the base, and can also be felt early in the opening. It pairs well with vanilla, praline, tonka bean, coffee, tobacco, patchouli, musk and salty notes.
Caramel appears in 4,549 perfumes in the Fisfis catalogue and is used mostly as a heart note.
