Perfumes with Atlas Cedar

Atlas cedar smells dry, warm and slightly sweet with a resinous, pencil-shaving woodiness: the cedar of Morocco's Atlas Mountains, giving a fragrance a solid, clean foundation.

Wood chips of Cedrus atlantica are steam-distilled into cedarwood oil. Compared with Virginia cedar it is sweeter, more balsamic and faintly animalic. The scent carries dry wood, a hint of honey and resin. Atlas cedar appears roughly equally in the base and heart of a fragrance. It pairs with vetiver, patchouli, iris, lavender, bergamot, leather and musks.

Atlas Cedar appears in 756 perfumes in the Fisfis catalogue and is used mostly as a base note.
