Perfumes with Apricot

Apricot smells soft, juicy and velvety, close to peach but warmer and slightly jammy, leaving a creamy fruit impression on the skin.

There is no usable natural apricot oil in perfumery, so the note is reconstructed mainly from lactones such as gamma-decalactone and gamma-undecalactone, which give the fuzzy skin and creamy texture of stone fruit. Apricot appears about as often in the opening as in the heart. It pairs especially well with osmanthus, which naturally smells of apricot, and with rose, jasmine, vanilla, sandalwood and musks.

Apricot appears in 1,871 perfumes in the Fisfis catalogue and is used mostly as a top note.
