Perfumes with African Orange Flower
African orange flower smells honeyed, white-floral and slightly indolic with a citrus glow: the blossom of the bitter orange tree grown in North Africa, notably Tunisia and Morocco.
Citrus aurantium blossoms are solvent-extracted into orange flower absolute or steam-distilled into neroli. The absolute is warmer, more honeyed and denser, while neroli is fresher and greener. The scent ranges from clean, soapy tones to a skin-like, faintly animalic warmth. African orange flower sits mainly in the heart of a fragrance. It pairs with jasmine, tuberose, bergamot, petitgrain, honey, vanilla and musks.
African Orange Flower appears in 812 perfumes in the Fisfis catalogue and is used mostly as a heart note.
