Perfumes with Water Notes

Perfumes with Water Notes

Water notes describe a transparent, moist and fresh impression, like clean water, rain or a cool stream; they are an effect built from synthetic molecules rather than a single material.

The impression is usually created with molecules such as Calone, helional, dihydromyrcenol and certain aldehydes. It feels slightly ozonic, sometimes melon- or cucumber-like, with a soft, salt-free coolness. Water notes appear mainly in the heart and top of a fragrance. They pair with lotus, water lily, citrus, marine notes, green tea, white musks and light woods.

Water Notes appears in 1,413 perfumes in the Fisfis catalogue and is used mostly as a heart note.
