Immortelle smells warm and honeyed with notes of dry hay, licorice and curry spice, giving a fragrance a sunny, slightly savoury Mediterranean character.
Flowers of Helichrysum italicum, which grows around the Mediterranean and the Balkans, notably in Corsica and Bosnia-Herzegovina, are steam-distilled into an oil or solvent-extracted into an absolute. It recalls dried herbs, maple syrup and light tobacco. Immortelle sits mainly in the heart of a fragrance. It pairs with chamomile, tobacco, vanilla, leather, tonka, lavender and woods.
