Green notes describe fresh, sharp and natural scents that recall freshly cut grass, crushed leaves and snapped stems, bringing an open-air liveliness to a fragrance. The term is an umbrella used in note lists rather than a single raw material.
The effect comes from natural materials such as galbanum and violet leaf, or from synthetic molecules like cis-3-hexenol, the classic cut-grass compound.
