Leaves of Eucalyptus globulus and related Australian species are steam-distilled into an essential oil whose key component is 1,8-cineole. The scent combines a medicinal coolness with a green, resinous freshness. Eucalyptus is used in the top and heart of a fragrance. It pairs with mint, lavender, rosemary, citrus, pine, cedar and musks, and appears in aromatic and fresh compositions.
