Perfumes with Anise
Anise smells sweet, cool and licorice-like with a gentle spice, the familiar scent of aniseed sweets and spirits that adds a bright aromatic sparkle to a fragrance.
Seeds of Pimpinella anisum are steam-distilled into an essential oil whose main component is anethole. The scent is close to star anise and fennel, yet softer and slightly more floral. Anise is used mostly in the top of a fragrance and often in the heart. It pairs with lavender, licorice, iris, heliotrope, tonka, vanilla and almond.
