The powdery accord is a soft, dry and slightly sweet scent family that recalls face powder, baby powder or the inside of a vintage makeup compact. It adds a velvety texture to a fragrance and rounds off sharp edges.
The effect usually comes from orris root, violet and ionones, heliotrope, the coumarin found in tonka bean, musks and aldehydes.
