Ambrette tohumu notası, misk ebegümecinin tohumlarından gelen yumuşak, misk benzeri, tenimsi ve hafif armut, şarap tonlu bir kokudur; amber rengiyle ya da amber akoruyla bir ilgisi yoktur.
Abelmoschus moschatus tohumları buhar damıtmasıyla yağa ya da çözücüyle absolüye işlenir; kokunun karakterini ambrettolid gibi bitkisel kökenli misk molekülleri belirler. Hayvansal miske uzun süre bitkisel bir alternatif olarak kullanılmıştır. Kokusu sıcak, kadifemsi ve hafif meyvemsidir. Alt ve orta notada yer alır. İris kökü, gül, neroli, misk, sandal ağacı ve armutla iyi eşleşir.
