Aquatic and marine fragrances
Aquatic fragrances use marine and watery accords to capture sea breeze, salty skin, wet stone and ozone, giving a cool, airy feel; this list brings together the most popular scents in the family. The effect is usually built with synthetic molecules such as calone, plus sea and water notes, salt and mineral touches. Citrus, mint or aromatic herbs brighten the opening, while ambroxan, musk and light woods keep the scent on the skin.
Aquatics wear easily in hot, humid weather, on holiday, at the gym and during the day. In cold weather they can feel a little thin and chilly, so in winter you may prefer ones backed by a woodier base. Their airy character can make them seem to fade fast, but people around you may still notice them. Every fragrance here has a dominant aquatic, marine, ozonic or salty accord and the list is sorted by popularity.
