Fatty aldehydes, especially C-10 and C-12, beeswax, ambrette seed, certain lactones and oily woody materials are typical sources, and materials like iris and tuberose also have an oily facet. Oily notes are usually felt in the heart and base. They pair often with aldehydic, beeswax, animalic, white floral and musky accords.
