Lactonic perfumes
The lactonic accord describes soft, creamy and slightly fruity scents such as milk, cream, peach skin and coconut, and it takes its name from a group of molecules called lactones. It gives a fragrance a smooth texture that seems to melt into the skin.
Gamma-decalactone and gamma-undecalactone bring peachy tones, gamma-nonalactone a coconut effect, and delta-lactones a milky, creamy feel; materials like sandalwood and osmanthus also have a naturally lactonic side. These notes appear in the heart and base. They pair often with white florals, fruity notes, vanilla, sandalwood and gourmand accords. Thanks to their soft, comforting nature, lactonic fragrances work in any season, especially for casual wear and cool evenings.
The Lactonic accord appears in 6,625 perfumes in the Fisfis catalogue. Below are the most popular scents where it leads.
