The aldehydic accord describes the fizzy, soapy, slightly metallic and sparkling effect created by fatty aldehydes, and it is closely tied to classic perfumery. It adds a shimmer and a sense of clean, freshly ironed linen.
Molecules such as aldehyde C-10, C-11 and C-12, including lauric aldehyde and MNA, form its core; harsh on their own, they brighten florals and add volume at low doses.
